key fobs require 2 different programming efforts May 8, 2019 Reviewer: Cynthia from Seattle, WA United States   The key fob was great and very reasonably priced.  With a little trial and error and looking at different sites on how to program the remote door lock/unlock, that was accomplished.  The 2009 Toyota Matrix key requires special equipment to program the ignition (transponder) chip.  I found a lock smith that will do it for $25.00. Works great! March 29, 2019 Reviewer: Jared P. from Hermitage , PA United States   The key is pretty much a exact match to my original. A local hardware store was able to cut it to fit my vehicle. The directions on how to program it on remotesremotes website were off by one step. A quick Internet search got me going in less than 5 mins. Was this review helpful to you?
