I purchased the key fob for my 2007 Volvo XC70. The product showed up quickly and it looked to be pretty high-quality. I followed the locksmith recommendations that came on the website and I had no problem getting the key itself cut. However, I can’t find anybody who will actually program the key fob to work with my car. I wish I had known this before I purchased the key fob. Of course I could go to the dealer and pay between five and $600 to get one and have it programmed. The dealer will not program aftermarket key fobs.

I purchased the flip key remote for my 2004 XC 70. I had it cut at the local hardware store that had a sidewinder cutter. Took the key to my local Volvo dealer in Madison Wisconsin. They were able to program the key but not the remote to open clothes and lock the doors.  $260 is still a lot better than get a key from the dealer.

This remote key fob looks exactly like my original from VOLVO.  I was able to have the key duplicated at a local hardware store that has the appropriate sidewinder machine.

Today I had my '04 XC70 programmed for this remote.  It went flawlessly and I have 100% functionality.  The downside is that the dealer charged $183.30 for the software download and install.  Still, not a bad deal overall.

They offer identical key fobs @ such a great discount. They don't have the brand on vehicle on them but who cares. They work just fine after programming.

I haven't gotten the key cut or programmed yet as I bought it for a spare. But I received it very quickly, and is identical to the original minus the Volvo logo.
