I am sure it is hard to match up an 18-year-old fob with the exact replacement. The fob worked okay but we had to swap the internal chip that allows the car to start from an old fob to the fob sent from remotes remotes. Otherwise the car would not have started. Luckily we had that option.  The key cut fine and all is well.   Still... I'm glad I saved money by sourcing it myself.
