My OEM case was cracked. Each shell comes in a separate plastic bag and with the rubber button pad.
Opened my old remote and removed the circuit board and battery. Opened the shell and put the circuit board and battery in. Didn't work at first.
Opened the replacement shell and gently bent the metal connections to the battery, put everything back together and it works like a charm. There are two connections to the battery. On my model there is metal plate with four tongues and a metal connection in the shape of p or b. I gently bent the tongues up and the b shaped connection towards the metal plate. That did the job. Don't assume your battery is dead - though this would be a good time to replace the battery.
